The Kabul Tribune (KT) — A 12-year-old student was shot and killed at his home in eastern Afghanistan's Laghman province, according to local sources.
The incident occurred on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in the Malak Kala area of Alingar district, the sources said.
The victim, identified as Maghforullah, was a fourth-grade student at a private school.
According to the sources, the boy was studying inside his home when he was struck by gunfire and killed.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no information has been released about the identity of the suspected attacker or attackers.
