The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The body of Afghanistan's first cosmonaut, Abdul Ahad Momand, is scheduled to be repatriated from Munich, Germany, to Kabul on Monday, July 6, 2026, where he will be laid to rest.

According to sources, the repatriation is being coordinated by the Taliban's Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense and Transport. Upon the arrival of his body in Kabul, funeral prayers will be held before he is buried in Afghanistan.
