The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghan mixed martial artist Farid Basharat defeated his American opponent during a UFC event, securing another victory in his professional fighting career.
Basharat delivered a strong performance throughout the bout and was declared the winner by the judges' decision.
The victory came after Basharat had already recorded 15 consecutive wins without a defeat in professional mixed martial arts competitions.
Basharat is among Afghanistan's leading MMA fighters and represents the country in international competitions. He and his brother, Javid Basharat, both compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and have played a role in raising the profile of Afghan fighters on the global stage in recent years.
