The Kabul Tribune (KT) — India has delivered a consignment of tents to support Afghan refugees returning to Afghanistan from neighboring countries, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said.

Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the shipment has arrived in Afghanistan and was handed over to the Taliban's Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation to assist returning Afghans.

India has provided humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan on several occasions in recent years, including food, medicine, and other relief supplies.

The latest aid comes as the return of Afghan refugees from Iran and Pakistan has accelerated, with thousands of people crossing back into Afghanistan each day.

The United Nations and humanitarian organizations have warned that Afghanistan requires increased international assistance to meet the growing needs of returnees, including shelter, food, healthcare, and other essential services.
