The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The U.N. Refugee Agency (UNHCR) said the Government of Switzerland has provided a flexible contribution of $2.4 million to support its humanitarian operations in Afghanistan.
In a post on X, UNHCR expressed gratitude to the Swiss government and people for the funding, saying the contribution will enable the agency to respond rapidly to evolving humanitarian needs across the country.
According to UNHCR, the funding will also support the sustainable reintegration of Afghan returnees and assist vulnerable communities as they rebuild their lives.
The agency said the flexible nature of the contribution will allow it to allocate resources where they are most urgently needed amid Afghanistan's ongoing humanitarian challenges.
