The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Two people were killed and five others injured in a traffic accident in Pul-e-Alam, the capital of Logar province, Taliban police said.
According to the Taliban's Logar Police Command, the crash occurred on Wednesday in the Sayed Habibullah Kala area when a Toyota Corolla collided with a rickshaw.
Police said preliminary findings indicate that driver negligence caused the accident.
The injured were transferred to Konjak Hospital for medical treatment, the police said.
Traffic accidents remain one of the leading causes of deaths and injuries in Afghanistan. Authorities frequently attribute such incidents to reckless driving, failure to observe traffic regulations, poor road conditions and vehicle mechanical problems.
