KT - Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said Thursday that militants have found safe havens and state support in Afghanistan, from where they launch attacks on Pakistan.
Bugti made the remarks at a press conference in Islamabad, emphasizing that the Taliban must adhere to the Doha Agreement, under which Kabul pledged not to allow its territory to be used against any country. He added that many of the recently killed militants were Afghan citizens.
He also accused India’s intelligence agency, RAW, of orchestrating a “spy war” to unite militant groups in Balochistan and destabilize Pakistan.
Commenting on reports of the killing of Rehman Gul, alleged mastermind of the Jaffer Express attack, Bugti said the claims remain unconfirmed but would represent a major success if verified.
Pakistan has repeatedly claimed that rising security threats in the country originate from Afghan soil. The Taliban, however, deny such allegations, asserting that security matters in Pakistan are the responsibility of Pakistani authorities.
